Club Meeting Melbourne 13th October 2001

WOW what a turnout! Start was scheduled for 12 midday. About an hour and a half before, cars started to arrive and never stopped. The registration table was non stop and the nametags provided by Peter Scott looked a treat. The cars were all parked nose out for photo opportunities and forty eight club cars was the final total plus eleven from the Hosts, making fifty nine (59 - Could this be a world record??) Lexus/Soarers on the one site. The speakers were accommodated in an indoor area with seats provided by Joe and Peter from Leisure Vehicles who also provided the BBQ lunch.

A question / answer session followed and then a walk around the vehicles. Every colour, every type. Different wheels on just about every car, BBS, Enkei, Work, BSA, Speedy, AU Tickford Falcon 7 Spoke, and even some with standard Toyota 10 spokes. Custom exhausts abounded in Stainless, mild steel, Jetcoated, single and double with every tip imaginable. TV's ,Sat Navs, other Electronic gismos eg. Gtech accelerometers, ride height controllers, Tein suspensions, and we even had two Apexi representatives turn up in a hot TT and a new model WRX with the works.

Thanks to all who attended and special thanks to Barry Anderson for his instrumental help in putting the meeting together. Also to the presenters, Steve Cheetham, Peter Scott, and Peter and Jo from Leisure Vehicles. Thanks also to Suzanne Hayden and Aaron Elliot who manned the registration desk and kept the head count for the day.
