Ozzie Superchargers for your Toyota V8

This page is dedicated to images and articles relating to the various attempts to supercharge the Toyota 1UZFE V8 as found in the Soarer and Lexus SC400. Some have been successful, others not quite so...........
.
Steve Klimos had a go with a Vortec centrifugal unit with a monstrous intercooler in his V8 Soarer. This was back in 1998 and he had a lot of trouble getting an engine management system that could work with the Soarer frequency controlled air flow meter. In the end he removed the blower and sold the car having never really completed it.

The Japanese tuning company C's market a number of engine modification products to suit the 1UZFE engine. A high lift cam kit, 5.0 litre stroker kit and a roots type supercharger.

Here's an image of the 'ultimate Soarer'. A 5.0 litre, bored, stroked and cammed V8 fitted with a Supercharger. Roll on tattslotto and put me on the list. Not the ultimate sleeper though. For this supercharger you need a carbon fibre bonnet with the mandatory bulge to clear the unit.

The guys at Powerhouse Performance in Perth W.A. went into it in a big way with a roots type blower, running straight methanol to reduce detonation.

Andy Richardson has put countless hours of effort into mounting the Terra Charger unit onto a 1UZFE in a UZZ32 active Soarer. It looks great, requires no bonnet mods apart from a little clearance to the noise shield on a UZZ32, and is expected to produce figures in the range of 205 rear wheel kilowatts at 5.5 lbs of boost.

In conjunction with a programmable ECU, this has to be a real weapon. Andy is going to try to put it together as a bolt on kit, which will be sold locally and throughout the UK and USA. Keep an eye on the ALSC news and events area for details as they become available.

We wish Andy all the best with his project and look forward to seeing the first kits become available for our cars.
