ALSC Sydney Meet - January 14th 2002

From Ray Crawford.

Our meeting on Sunday the 14th was a great day.
Jenny and I arrived just after 9am at Berowra and were surprised to see so many Soarers already there. We were a bit apprehensive because of the late change to the venue. I was even more surprised when even more Soarers arrived totalling 21 altogether. This compares to 13 from the last run. A few familiar faces from the last drive as well as a lot of new owners of this fabulous car.

Terry Dean and David Muir welcomed everybody and then the cars were lined up for a photo shoot before heading off down the Old Pacific Highway towards the Hawkesbury River. Mostly bike riders use this road on the weekend and it was amusing to see their helmets swivelling to see one Soarer after the other drive past. Gavin Lo attempted to overtake every V8 Soarer in one go with his hot TT. He nearly made it.

We stopped at Gosford under a bridge in the shade for a group meeting and checked out each others cars. I was able to plug my digital camera into three car's AV plugs (located under the cup holder) and display brilliant colour pictures on the EMV screen. For some reason it didn't work on my car and one other.

We then headed to Terrigal and parked in the picnic area overlooking the beach where we had some lunch. More discussions on cold air induction, exhaust systems and other upgrades. Overall a nice day with good company and even the ladies seemed to enjoy (up to a point).
Look forward to the next event.
Regards,
Ray Crawford
